Responsibilities
Audit Seniors will become involved with all aspects of the audit process. He/She will work along with the audit staff in performing detailed procedures necessary to perform examinations of clients' financial statements. These procedures normally include:
  • Cash and accounts receivable confirmation.
  • Inventory price testing and observation.
  • Bank reconciliations and cash analysis.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable testing
  • Fixed asset additions and retirements.
  • Income and expense analysis.
  • Analytical review procedures.
  • Document internal controls.
  • Perform internal control testing and tests of transactions.
  • Single audit program selection and testing.
In addition, an Audit Senior will also be expected to perform the following:
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and footnotes.
  • Prepare and input computer trial balances.
  • Assist in preparing work paper packages.
  • Involvement in audit planning.
  • Work with clients and other team members to ensure information is delivered/received in a timely manner to complete the engagement while applying specialized training for the accounting industry.
  • Identify and communicate issues that arise to the engagement team in a timely manner; communicate status of work appropriately.
  • Accurately document the execution of specific review and audit procedures performed.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have BS/BBA in Accounting and strong quantitative, analytical and technology capabilities.
  • Be proficient with firm software including ProSystem fx Engagement
  • Preparation of tax returns and use of Ultra-tax software a plus.
  • 150 educational credit hours required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of public accounting experience with a diverse industry background. Experience in Not-for-profit and Governmental Industries a plus.
  • CPA credentials or in the process of completion of the CPA exam.
  • Must have personal vehicle, with flexibility to travel within the CT area. Travel to client sites is expected and will vary; typically ranges from 35-45% of the time.
  • Work well under pressure and with a team; able to meet deadlines with accuracy.

These positions will assist MAWC, LLC during times of high volume (seasonally and/or strong client need). We require high-energy, experienced Audit professionals with strong interpersonal skills. These positions are also eligible to work remotely.
Responsibilities
  • Execute audit assignments in various areas including, but not limited to, cash, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, and expense analysis
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing /meeting deadlines and proactively sharing strategies.
  • Reviews and prepares work papers to ensure documentation adequately supports conclusions reached.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including complex footnote disclosures.
  • Conducts research, prepares memorandums and summarizes findings.
  • Perform technical research as required.
Qualifications
  • A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.

  • Prepare or review federal and state income tax returns for high net-worth individual, corporate and partnership/LLC, real estate, exempt organizations.
  • Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance services in a timely and effective manner.
  • Successfully initiates and conducts tax planning for clients with little or no partner involvement.
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing /meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax strategies.
  • Keep on current tax laws, regulations and practices.

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Ultra Tax is a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting required.
